Smackdown

There was no match tonight

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. While he is making his way down the ring, there is a recap of the events that happened at Survivor Series and on Monday Night Raw.

Roman grabs the mic and begins his promo. As a kid, me and The Usos used to fight all over the house. Up to the point where one Uso broke a coffee table using the other Uso. We got a lifetime ban from the house. We wrestled in the yard, at the beach, we would move it to the pool, but our favorite spot was the trampoline.

It wasn’t just all about fun because it really was. We imagined we would win the WWE Championship one day. But it felt like a dream, more like a dream. All the way up until this past Sunday at Survivor Series, when I won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But it was a short dream, it really was. The dream got shattered when Sheamus crushed my face with a Brogue Kick.

Sheamus music hits and he comes out.

Sheamus tells Roman he needs to get over it. He’s like a walking talking Adele song and that’s not good. He was World Heavyweight Champion for five minutes fifteen seconds and that was days ago. He tells Roman that’s he has been out talking about being World Heavyweight Champion longer than he was actually champion. Sheamus says he was in elevators longer than Reigns has been champion. You can’t even heat up a frozen burrito in the time you were champion. Sheamus goes on to say if he was reading a book in the amount of time Reigns was champion, he wouldn’t be able to finish the first page. That’s how quick it was.

He goes on to say get over it because it looks so much better on him. Sheamus says he’s not out to bust his chops, he knows Roman had one hell of a moment at Survivor Series. He goes on to talk about the matches Roman had. He gets excited when he gets to the point where he comes out and turns Roman’s moment into his.

Roman talks about how Sheamus is standing up there looking stupid. He says or Sheamus can come down to the ring, and he can show him what he can do in under five minutes son. Sheamus tells Roman is that what you want? Roman goes to the audience and says “Indy is that what you want?” The crowd roars with cheer. Sheamus starts walking and then stops and says “not a chance.” He tells Roman that’s what’s wrong with him, he doesn’t think things through. That’s why he’s no longer champion. He says all you had to do was shake Triple H’s hand. He further says he takes opportunities and that’s why he has the championship and Reigns has broken dreams. Sheamus says see you in your nightmares.

Roman says let’s talk about your nughtmares. Let’s talk about TLC. Let me give you a sneak peek. When you step into the ring with me, I’m going to break your jaw with a Superman Punch. He says then I have three words for you. Tables. Ladders. Chairs. He says he’s going to fold the chair and try to break Sheamus’ back with it. He says when he’s done he’s gonna scoop him up and powerbomb him into a table. He says and when you can’t get up, I’m going to climb the ladder and take what’s rightfully mine the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He finally states ” and you better believe that.”

Raw

Last night, at the Survivor Series, we saw a new WWE World Champion crowned at the end of a sixteen man tournament. However, that man did not walk out of Atlanta with the title. After Roman Reigns turned his back on Triple H and speared him, Sheamus came out and finally took advantage of a worn down champion to become the latest man who successfully cash in the Money in the Bank Briefcase to become the new WWE World Champion. What is next for the champion and the former champion? We are in Nashville, Tennessee and your announcers are Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and John Layfield.

Triple H’s music plays and he comes to the ring with his wife Stephanie McMahon.

Stephanie welcomes everyone to Raw. She says life is often defined by opportunity. Those who seize, it those who miss it, and those who let it pass through their hands like Roman Reigns.

Hunter says he offered Roman an opportunity two weeks ago that would have guaranteed him walking out of Survivor Series as the WWE Champion. All he had to do was shake his hand and show his faith in the company that had faith in him. Roman said to shove it.

Stephanie mentions that opportunity knocked twice for him. He was given a chance before the tournament and then it happened last night when Hunter offered his hand to Roman after Roman won.

Hunter says he let the first rejection go. When Roman became the WWE World Champion, he was the first one to stand there and tell him congratulations and offer his hand in an opportunity. In that moment, Reigns chose to cheap shot him. Roman’s pride made him cheap shot him and that cheap shot is why Roman Reigns is no longer the WWE World Champion.

This should be a life lesson for each of you. Your life is determined by your opportunities, the ones you seize and the ones you miss.

Hunter brings out the new WWE Champion, Sheamus.

Sheamus says it doesn’t get better than this. Sheamus says he cannot believe how much he appreciates this. That introduction was top class. Sheamus says that there is nothing you can say that will ruin his moment. Sheamus says he will not let you stand in his way.

Last night, Roman Reigns made it to the top of the mountain but Roman could not stay up there because he Brogue Kicked him off. The Roman Empire lasted 500 years but this one lasted five minutes and fifteen seconds. At least Caesar did not roll over. He died like a man. When he became Mr. Money in the Bank, he told each and every one of you, he was only one Brogue Kick away from becoming the next WWE champion.

Last night he proved it. Sheamus has one question for everyone . . . Who Looks Stupid Now?

Hunter says Sheamus doesn’t look stupid. He looks like the WWE Champion. Sheamus hugs Hunter and then he hugs Stephanie.

Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Sheamus says speaking of looking stupid, here is the former WWE Champion. He asks Roman how is that pride thing working for ya?

Roman congratulates the new champ. Roman says he wants his rematch tonight.

Stephanie jumps in and before she can tell us the match is not happening tonight, we hear Yes Chants. Stephanie says Roman’s right to demand things ended when he speared her husband. She tells Roman to get out of her ring.

Roman asks H if he is standing behind her because he is afraid of Roman.

Hunter and Roman stand face to face and Hunter is about to speak but Roman gets closer. Hunter tells Roman you speared him last night and congratulations. He asks Roman how did that work out for you. You have a lot to show for it and that is why you are no longer the WWE Champion.

As far as your rematch, you will get it when I say you get your rematch. Hunter says it sure as hell won’t be tonight.

From out of nowhere, Rusev with a super kick to Roman. Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Roman.

Rusev says something to Reigns before leaving the ring with Sheamus.

Hunter tells Roman that pride is a bitch. You’ll get your rematch in three weeks at the TLC pay per view in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match.

Stephanie tells Roman that the closest you are going to get to this championship is when Sheamus is wearing it in the corner of your opponent tonight, Rusev.

We see photos from the Undertaker’s 25 anniversary celebration at Survivor Series which featured a victory over the Wyatt Family.

We go to commercial.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns in a TLC Match

With a precisely timed cash-in at Survivor Series, Sheamus snared the top prize in WWE and ruined Roman Reigns’ crowning moment in one fell swoop. But on Dec. 13, at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will have to answer to The Big Dog when he defends the title against Reigns in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match.

WWE COO Triple H announced the rematch on the Nov. 23 edition of Raw, one night after The Celtic Warrior Brogue Kicked his way into the history books. Per match rules, the winner on Dec. 13 will be the first Superstar to climb a ladder and retrieve the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which will hang high above the ring. Tables, ladders and chairs will all be fair game, perfectly legal instruments of destruction to be used by both competitors.

For Reigns, the match represents the latest in a seemingly endless series of obstacles to the WWE World Heavyweight Title. He nearly had the championship won at WrestleMania, only for Seth Rollins to interrupt and cash in his Money in the Bank contract successfully. At Money in the Bank 2015, the all-important contract — the same one ultimately won by Sheamus — seemed within reach, until Bray Wyatt interfered and halted him. Finally, at WWE’s fall classic, the title was his, claimed after Reigns went 4-0 in the championship tournament, only for The Celtic Warrior to emerge and unleash two brutal Brogue Kicks. Will Reigns score payback at WWE TLC?

Sheamus will not let the title go without a fight. The double-tough Irishman, now with the endorsement of The Authority, may be more powerful than ever before. After returning to the WWE mountaintop for the first time in years, The Celtic Warrior will likely go to the extreme to defend his newly won title. Without the element of surprise working in his favor, as it had at Survivor Series, will Sheamus be able to stop The Big Dog?

Perhaps most important of all, which Superstar stands to benefit most from the unique — and ultra-dangerous — Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match stipulation?

Watch the carnage unfold live when WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs takes over the award-winning WWE Network on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 8 ET/5 PT.

We are reminded of the semifinal matches at Survivor Series and we are told that Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose will face Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens.

Miz is in the ring for MizTV. Miz says history will be made on Sunday when one man survives the grueling tournament to become the WWE Champion. Miz says that his guests are the four men who will be in the semifinals.

Kevin Owens jumps his cue and he comes out first and makes his way to the ring.

Miz says Kevin is new to this, but the guests wait until they are introduced.

Kevin tells Miz that he is turning this into the Kevin Owens Show.

Miz says that this is his show. Kevin says it is the Kevin Owens Show. After Sunday night, once he has the WWE World Championship over his right shoulder, you and nobody else will be able to deny that he is . . . THE MAN.

Miz says his next guest has a different vision for the future of the WWE and . . .

Alberto Del Rio’s music plays and he jumps his cue as he comes to the ring with Zeb Colter.

Zeb tells Miz to hold it. You are not fooling anyone. You are not even fooling yourself. You are a hater. They are not going to fall for the gotcha questioning. Like the media does to separate and divide, he has some advice for Miz from him, Alberto, and MexAmerica, they refuse to participate in this charade.

Zeb says Miz can call it whatever he wants. He can call it Blue’s Clues or he can call it Sesame Street. You can call it Up and Over the Hill to Grandmomma’s House. The show is judged by the content and the last time it he saw it, it was crap.

Zeb wants to know why Kevin is laughing, if that is his name. He calls Kevin a hater like Miz. Zeb wants to know how Kevin got into the country. How did he sneak across the border? Did he skate across Lake Michigan?

Alberto enters the ring and he says that when he becomes the WWE MexAmerican World Champion, there will be places for people like you. We all need someone to clean our swimming pools in MexAmerica.

Kevin tells Alberto that nobody missed you while you were away.

Dean Ambrose’s music interrupts a potential skirmish between Alberto and Kevin.

Dean makes his way into the ring and Miz tells Dean that they were getting ready to fight. Fighting equals ratings.

Dean says he is out here to help Miz because Alberto and Kevin were disrespecting MizTV and trying to make a fool of him. Dean says he is humbled and honored to be on MizTV.

Dean tells Miz to sit down because he has it. He tells Alberto he is a great champion and he wonders why Alberto has Yosemite Sam talking for him. If he has to go through Alberto, he will. Dean tells Kevin that he can give a beating unlike anyone in the company but Dean says he can take a beating like no other. Dean says he is walking out with the WWE Championship.

Miz says that there might be someone else who has something to say and . . .

Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way through the crowd and to the ring.

Miz reminds Roman there is a system.

Roman tells Miz he knows how the show goes. You run your mouth until we shut it up. Roman asks Miz if he wants to keep running his mouth.

The fifth man in the semifinals makes his way to the ring as R Truth comes to the ring.

Truth wants to know What’s Up. He says you are looking at the underdog. Truth says his whole life, he has been the underdog, but he survives. He is a survivor. At Survivor Series, Truth says he is going to cut through each of these superstars like a hot knife going through butter. Truth says he will be the new WWE World Champion.

Miz tells Truth he isn’t even in the tournament.

Truth looks around and he wants to make sure he understands what Miz is saying.

Miz tells Truth about the tournament and how he isn’t involved.

Truth says this is on him. Truth says ‘My Bad’ and he wishes Dean and Roman good luck, but he does not wish Alberto or Kevin good luck as he goes to the back.

Miz asks if anyone has any respect for MizTV. Miz reminds everyone about the format and if the finals could be friend versus friend or champion versus champion. Then you are supposed to face off.

Roman tells Miz to chill out. Roman reminds Miz this is his show and he knows how things work. Miz is the director so he tells Miz to direct. Tell them what to do.

Miz says Action and Dean punches Miz in the face. Owens and Del Rio leave the ring together while Dean and Roman comment on the punch.

We go to commercial.

Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are in the back getting ready for their tag match against Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio. Dean says he feels great. He is visualizing pasting Kevin Owens around the ring and seeing MexAmerica split in half by a Superman punch.

Roman says if that happens at Survivor Series, they will be fighting at the end. Roman says if he gets that close, he will treat Dean like anyone else.

Dean says he would expect nothing less. He says that they both have to do what they have to do and if their paths cross, then so be it.

Roman Reigns and United States Champion Alberto Del Rio will face off in the semifinal round of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament this Sunday at Survivor Series, with the winner advancing the tournament final — and the opportunity of a lifetime — later that night.

For Reigns, a victory against Del Rio would secure him a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match for the second time in recent memory. The Big Dog originally earned No. 1 contender status on the Oct. 26 edition of Raw, when he came out on top in a Fatal 4-Way Match. Yet, his title match against champion Seth Rollins was canceled after The Architect suffered a major knee injury and had to forfeit the championship. Reigns was then offered a golden chance to be fast-tracked to the tournament final by WWE COO Triple H, but he refused to “play ball” with The Authority in exchange for the free ride.

In turn, Reigns’ path to the semifinals has been anything but easy. He scraped past The World’s Largest Athlete, Big Show, in round one, and overcame a tough challenge from Cesaro in round two.

Since returning to WWE by surprise at Hell in a Cell, where he reappeared alongside Zeb Colter and ended John Cena’s U.S. Championship reign, Del Rio has appeared virtually unstoppable. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion advanced to the tournament semifinals with wins over Stardust in round one and The Lucha Dragons’ Kalisto in round two.

Which Superstar will have the edge this Sunday in Atlanta at Survivor Series? Will the U.S. Champion’s dangerous strikes and flawless submission game propel him to a WWE World Heavyweight Title Match? Or will Reigns — who came within a hair of winning WWE’s top prize from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 — Superman Punch and Spear his way to the final?

Watch this all-important tournament clash at Survivor Series, airing live this Sunday, only on the award-winning WWE Network.
