At Survivor Series, two of the greatest factions in WWE history will go head-to-head when The Shield battle The New Day in a dream showdown that everybody wanted to see, but never saw coming.

Prior to Nov. 6, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were standing tall as the Raw Tag Team Champions and were poised to battle SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos at WWE’s fall classic, Roman Reigns was on the shelf, and four-time Tag Team Champions The New Day were driving their opponents crazy on the blue brand and waging unforgettable battles with Jimmy & Jey for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

However, that all changed at the end of Monday Night Raw, when Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods suddenly reemerged in Team Red territory, teasing “Under Siege Part II” and inciting a commotion that cost Ambrose & Rollins to lose their championships to Cesaro & Sheamus.

The following week, a fully reunited Shield interrupted Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon during her tense encounter with General Manager Kurt Angle and challenged The New Day to a Raw vs. SmackDown slugfest. The rest, as they say, is history.

Forget the numbers advantage. Forget psychological warfare. At Survivor Series, get ready as two of the most dominant trios ever to step into a WWE ring show up and throw down. Will The Power of Positivity triumph at WWE’s second-longest running pay-per-view? Or will The Hounds get their justice? Find out this Sunday, streaming live on the WWE Network, with a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT.

Hounds Of Justice! Last week on Raw, Roman came out to interrupt The Miz and The Bar. He said “Who said anything about a rumor?” Soon after Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins joined him. They made their way to the ring in Shield fashion, attacking Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro. Kurt Angle made a historic match with Miz and The Bar facing The Shield at TLC.

Moments after the historic match was made, The Shield was back to their old ways, attacking Braun Strowman. Strowman laid waste to each member of The Shield. This was payback. Noting that Dean said that it didn’t matter how many people they had to go through, Angle added Braun Strowman to the match.

Tonight on Raw, The Shield interrupted Kurt Angle. Roman said Kurt can either go on his own or he can get thrown out. The Shield said that after 5 years3.5 years, they were back and better than ever. They don’t want to wait until Sunday, let’s fight right here and now.

Kurt Angle says no. He also states that the ringside will be cleared. Also if Braun Strowman loses, he is out of the match Sunday. If Strowman wins, The Miz and crew can add a person to their team.

The steel cage match gets off to a huge start as both Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman Show their incredible strength. From using the steel cage as a weapon to using the ring, both competitors had something they were fighting for. When it seemed to go in Roman’s favor of winning the match, The Bar, not taking being banned from ringside, showed up to lend a hand to the 7 foot tall Strowman. Right on their tails, Ambrose and Rollins show up. Their fight takes over and cameras follow them to the back. No one knows what happened during the two minutes that the cameras were on the backstage area. Back in the ring, Roman gave Braun everything he had including three Superman punches. Out of nowhere Kane appears and chock slams Reigns three times and power drives him into the ring. Having Kane on their side, allows Miz and his crew to take the upper hand for now. The Shield is one of the greatest factions of this era, so we will have to wait and see if they can overcome the odds. For more in-depth highlights and coverage from tonight, check out WWE.com ‘s coverage below.

The Shield may have formalized their reunion last week with their trademark fist bump, but for the first time in three years, Raw opened with the crackle of “Sierra, Hotel, India… ” and the sight of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns donning black and marching through the audience to surround someone in the ring — in this case, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, who quickly turned over the mic and made his exit.

It was awesome (as the WWE Universe chanted), and if there were any concerns that The Hounds of Justice had lost a step, they immediately launched into a scorched-earth proclamation to pick up right where they left off at WWE TLC. And even though Ambrose’s tough talk inadvertently got Braun Strowman added to the upcoming TLC Match last week, The Lunatic Fringe only doubled down on his resolve — he reiterated that The Shield could take on any number of opponents and challenged their TLC foes to throw down on the spot.
The Miz, Braun Strowman and The Bar came to the stage to oblige, but Angle got between the two squadrons, reminding them that The Bar would challenge Ambrose & Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Titles and Strowman would battle The Big Dog in a Steel Cage Match tonight. It was enough to stop the fists from flying, but there’ll be no such restraint on anyone’s part come Sunday.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle banned The Miz, The Bar and The Shield from ringside to prevent outside interference and preserve the integrity of Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage, a match that would determine the complexion of the big TLC Match on Sunday. But he didn’t say anything about inside interference, and now Strowman’s victory expands The Shield’s opponents from four to five as a result.

To be fair, the rival teams ignored Angle’s initial decree as well, rushing the cage despite the General Manager’s orders. The Miz’s crew struck first, with The Bar cutting Roman off at the pass when he tried to escape the cage after momentarily felling Strowman. The Shield quickly neutralized the interference, but The Monster Among Men hauled Reigns over the cage right into a superplex, and when the brawl between The Shield and The Bar continued into the parking lot, Miz himself locked them out of the arena by closing the door of the loading dock.

Reigns managed to fight his way back into contention by hitting Strowman with three Superman Punches and a Spear, but the tide quickly turned when the arena plunged into red light and Kane rose from beneath the ring to administer two bone-rattling chokeslams to the former WWE Champion. Strowman followed up with a Running Powerslam, The Big Red Monster piled on with a Tombstone, and a second Running Powerslam from The Gift of Destruction earned the decisive pinfall and expanded his squadron by one for Sunday in the process. And, as Miz informed the WWE Universe, in case that wasn’t enough of a hint, The Devil’s Favorite Demon was, indeed, his final teammate for WWE TLC.

Dean Ambrose said The Shield could take on five opponents and win. The Hounds of Justice are about to be put to that exact test.

Emperor Uncrowned! Roman Reigns has been dealing with several thorns as of late. The Miztourage. The Miz and Miztourage think that they are The New Shield. Last week Roman Reigns was granted a shot for the Intercontinental Championship. Roman knows that he will have to disable The Miztourage first. Did Roman Reigns get crowned or did The Miztourage find a way to tear down the Empire? After the match, The Miztourage began to assault and take down Roman Reigns. After Raw went off air, Roman was seen nursing his injuries in the locker room. He was then visited by the tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Nothing was said between the three, so that leaves us to wonder have The Shield reunited? Here is what WWE.com had to say about tonight’s match.

The Miz has demanded respect for months now, but the Intercontinental Champion aping The Shield with his squad might have been a bridge too far. After he and The Miztourage mimicked The Shield’s entrance through the crowd (one week after doing the fist bump, mind you) before his title match with Roman Reigns, The Big Dog snapped, obliterating Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel with a steel chair before the match could start.

Miz, impressively, nearly finagled his way to a count-out win in the ensuing title bout, even reversing the Superman Punch into a Skull-Crushing Finale, but Reigns would not be denied. He kicked out of Miz’s big move and clocked him with a Superman Punch, but Cesaro & Sheamus quickly interfered before Reigns could uncork a Spear on The A-Lister.

“The Bar” — whom Reigns had less-than-flattering words for after their beatdown of his old allies Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins — worked in perfect sync with Miz to decimate Reigns, feeding him into each other’s signature moves (Neutralizer, Brogue Kick, Skull-Crushing Finale) before administering The Shield’s final signature, the Triple Powerbomb, to Reigns.

Ironically, while Reigns licked his wounds at the very end of Raw, he received a pointed visit from Ambrose and Rollins, who wordlessly stood by The Big Dog’s side in solidarity. The Miz has been asking all along if The Shield could hang with today’s WWE, three years after they imploded. He might get his answer yet.

Reigns stops and takes in all the noise. Reigns gives John Cena props as being one of the best talkers but says sometimes he says stupid shit, like that Reigns tries to be the next Cena. Reigns goes on and calls Cena the biggest hypocrite to step in a WWE ring and if you don’t believe him, Cena will tell you himself. Reigns shows us footage from February 2012 with Cena dissing The Rock for being a part-timer for Hollywood.

Reigns asks the crowd if we should bring Cena out. He tells them to get louder. He’s afraid that won’t be loud enough because Cena isn’t here tonight. Reigns says No Mercy will be just like that WrestleMania but it will be a different Samoan beating Cena. Reigns goes on and drops the mic after knocking Cena for being a movie star. Reigns greets some fans at ringside before making his way up the ramp.

April 24th, 2017  | Posted by: | Filed Under: Coverage,Interviews

Even by Roman Reigns’ standards, the last two weeks have been almost unbearably difficult. Not only did the former WWE Champion suffer a brutal attack at the hands of Braun Strowman, he suffered the loss of his brother, Matt “Rosey” Anoa’i. Despite this, however, Reigns will still compete against Strowman at WWE Payback this Sunday, and he spoke with WWE.com to discuss the well-wishes he’s received, how his family is holding up and whether he thinks he’s up to facing The Monster Among Men this Sunday at all.

WWE.COM: It’s been a tough two weeks for you personally and professionally. On the personal side, WWE.com sends its condolences to your family. How are you doing and how is everyone else doing?

ROMAN REIGNS: Right now, it’s one of those situations where it’s a lot of mixed feelings. When you live in a big family, it’s always great to be able to come together, but to have to come together to send off a brother — and not only was he my brother, but in our family, even when you’re cousins, we’re all so close that we feel like brothers. That’s the type of connection we have in our family. It was an extremely sad weekend, and it’s still really tough. Everybody’s grieving. But to see our family come together and have a hundred-plus family and friends come together to celebrate my brother’s life really meant a lot. It just continually picks up our family and keeps us moving on.

WWE.COM: Obviously, as you just stated, you have your family around you. Can you talk about some of the support you’ve received from the WWE Universe and other Superstars during this time?

REIGNS: It’s crazy because it almost felt like Christmas times three. I don’t think I’ve ever received so many text messages from family and friends, especially within the company. So many guys in our locker room have reached out to me and sent their condolences and told me if there’s anything I need, don’t hesitate. I truly believe that. And talking to some of my family, that’s not just a saying. That’s real life. They want to do anything they can, whether it’s sending flowers, checking on me to try and talk, try and get down here to help out with any different thing we have to do with the services of a funeral. It’s really nice to be able to hear from all them. And, of course, through your social media, and Twitter is my main source of that, I’ve been overwhelmed with so many prayers and so many thoughts out there by my fans in the WWE Universe. Whether you’re a Roman Reigns supporter or a critic, everybody seems to understand the magnitude of the situation, and when it comes down to it, it’s a part of life but I think everybody gets it. Everybody’s been very sweet and really come to try and help me through this hard time. It really has helped.

WWE.COM: Well, once again, we’d like to reiterate our sentiment. We wish your family the best during this hard time.

REIGNS: Thank you. I just want to thank everybody who’s reached out. All my fans, everybody has been so supportive. This is a tough time but like everything in life we can learn from it and get better from it. My only hope now is that I can continue to represent my family and represent my brother and continue to push our legacy. He was my number one fan. He never missed a match, he never missed anything I did in the ring, he always had great advice for me and always reached out to talk. Payback and 2017 and any chance I get to go in that ring I’m representing him.

WWE.COM: Speaking of which, last time we saw you on Monday Night Raw was the incident at the hands of Braun Strowman with the ambulance. How are you feeling as you recuperate from that attack?

REIGNS: Physically, I’m as beat up as I am emotionally. This has been two of the roughest weeks of my professional career and life. I’ve never experienced a loss this close since it’s my only blood brother, but I’ve also never experienced a beatdown like Braun Strowman gave me. It’s unfortunate, because whatever point he’s trying to get across, he’s handling it the wrong way. And whether he thinks he’s a monster or not, I’m the top dog, I’m the big dog in this yard. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I already took out the greatest legend of all time. If anybody should be worried, it should be Braun Strowman. He’s got a whole storm that’s about to come his way.

WWE.COM: It was obviously announced that you will still face Braun Strowman at WWE Payback. Are you up to the challenge to face him on Sunday?

REIGNS: I’m beaten, I’m bruised, I’m hurt inside, but it comes down to the big fight. That’s what I do. When I step in that ring and my opponent steps in that ring and that bell goes ding, ding, I’m the one that holds it down. I’m the one that shows it’s my yard. I don’t have to jump people in the backstage, I don’t have to blindside people, I’ll face Braun eye-to-eye and put Braun down where he belongs because I’m the best in the WWE, I’m the best in the whole world, and at Payback this Sunday, I’ll show it.
